MANILA, Philippines — The Eastern Police District (EPD), which services Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina and San Juan, has deployed more than 500 police officers in preparation for the school opening on Monday.

Brig. Gen. Aden Lagradante, EPD director, said the district is fully ready under “Oplan Balik Eskwela 2025” to ensure safety, maintain order and assist students, parents and educators as classes resume.

The deployment covers school zones and nearby areas, with officers assigned to manage traffic, secure school premises and provide assistance at designated help desks.

The EPD is also coordinating closely with local government units, barangay officials and school administrators to ensure comprehensive security coverage.

Lagradante urged the public to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to authorities by calling 911.

He said the EPD is carrying out the five-minute maximum response directive of Philippine National Police chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III.
