MANILA, Philippines — Amid the surging cases of human immunodeficiency virus, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. is encouraging PhilHealth members to undergo regular HIV testing and seek timely medical intervention.

PhilHealth said people living with HIV (PLHIV) need not worry about access to treatment.

The enhanced Outpatient HIV/AIDS Treatment or OHAT package is available for PLHIV, offering an increased annual benefit of P58,500 from P30,000.

The package includes access to antiretroviral therapy, which is a crucial component in HIV management.

The OHAT package is available in 234 HIV treatment facilities accredited by PhilHealth and the Department of Health.

In 2024, PhilHealth disbursed P1.66 billion for 176,819 outpatient HIV/AIDS package benefit claims.
